FINN

Field Trial Winner
Corrib Jameson of Aberglen
(Int Ftch Beileys Aguzannis of Fendawood x Ftch Corrib Fern)

Finn came from Paul O'Brien's Corrib Gundog kennel in Ireland two years ago. The most wonderful temperament coupled with the drive and style of a dog typical of his ancestry. Finn's training has gone from strength to strength and we are excited to see what the future holds for the big polar bear.

A dog that simply wants to 'be with you', he is a firm favourite with everyone he meets. A gentle demeanor for such a big dog, Finn will happily mix in with the pack but is more often than not found glued to my left side. He has not forgotten the rudimentary basics we teach our puppies when they are very young. It is particularly prominent with him. Anything for a treat out of Dad's left pocket!!

Finn picked up a couple of awards in Working Tests during the 2022 test season, but it was always the plan that he would be trialled as soon as he was ready.  He prefers the real thing!!  Fortunately, the opportunity arose with the North Devon Gundog Club in early December.  Finn ran a fantastic trial and was awarded First Place and Gun's Choice.  It was a very composed performance on what was one of the coldest days I've ever had out in the field.  The standout retrieve of the day was Finn's eye wipe on a hen bird through a wood, onto the edge of a frozen pond.  Finn continued to perform throughout the day, catching the eye of both the guns and gallery.  It was a fantastic day and I was so pleased for him.  Finn will be run in Open Trials during the 2023/24 season with the odd Working Test during the summer.
